Really enjoyed this movie, a group of cruise ship passengers are unaware of its destination. John Garfield is the main protagonist who works out what is going on, and the inevitable conclusion of the purpose of their journey. Never watched. a lot of Garfield, but really enjoyed him in this role and will encourage me to find more. Sydney Greenstreet, a larger than life actor performs admirably and the personality change of the character is really great to see, although i have a hard time separating him from his Maltese Falcon, and Casablanca character. I have seen the previous version of this film "outward bound", but this is the wartime version, showing my opinion, brits and yanks in the same boat (pun intended). Paul Henreid, although the story revolves around him and his wife played by Eleanor Parker plays the role very conservatively and without spoiling the end, the outcome is better than can be expected. If you are like me and like films that have mystery,fate and supernatural aspects, I'd give it a go.
