
The monstrous Penguin, who dwells in the sewers beneath Gotham, joins up with corrupt mayoral candidate Max Shreck to topple the Batman once and for all. But when Shreck's timid assistant Selina Kyle finds out, and Shreck tries to kill her, she's transformed into the sexy Catwoman. She teams up with the Penguin and Shreck to destroy Batman, but sparks fly unexpectedly when she confronts the caped crusader.

This is one of the most disorienting, confusing, stylistic, disgusting, sexy films I have ever seen. And when I say sexy, I mean balls to the wall, pussy to the max sexy. Goddam sexy bastards

50/100 This is not a Batman movie. This is a Tim Burton movie with Batman in it...and unfortunately, as cool as that sounds, it doesn't quite manage to live up to its predecessor. Now, there are positives to this movie. The three comic book characters themselves, Batman, Catwoman and Penguin, are handled very well. The action remains good, and one benefit of the increased Tim Burton style is my personal favourite Gotham, a gothic land in the style of something I'd call a "modern fairy-tale". However, the movie often takes a step back from this comic book fun, with a lot of plot relevance being given to a villain named "Max Schreck", who I can no longer take seriously in this post-2001 world and who doesn't really work as a Batman villain, coming off as a prototype of the "evil CEO" trope that was so popular in the early 2000s.
