Gary Faulkner is an ex-con, unemployed handyman, and modern day Don Quixote who receives a vision from God telling him to capture Osama Bin Laden. Armed with only a single sword purchased from a home-shopping network, Gary travels to Pakistan to complete his mission. While on his quest, Gary encounters old friends back home in Colorado, the new friends he makes in Pakistan, the enemies he makes at the CIA - and even God and Osama themselves.

The 4 star review is for the directors cut Larry Charles put on his YouTube channel lol. First, Nic Cage is an absolute delight for the complete 2 hours and 45 minutes. However, the first hour or so drags on a bit, and this is a movie where you need to grab the audiences early and often. I assume most people gave up on this 360p YouTube video 10 minutes in. I am not most people. Halfway through, the movie spends more time with Gary in Pakistan, which is clearly just Nicholas Cage doing dozens upon dozens of different takes that Larry Charles stitched together in post. The result may as well be called Vampires Kiss 2 ... Which is why I give the directors cut Harvey didn't fuck with four stars. I emphasize this because people who think Vampires Kiss is a dumb, tedious and obnoxious movie will also hate this movie. The surreal religious debate between Gary and Hot Osama Bin Laden was very funny. Everything clicked for me during their subsequent katana battle - Gary Faulkner is kinda based on Jack Burton from Big Trouble Little China. I think you'd like the movie more if you watch it from that angle.
