In Mumbai, Nurse Prabha's routine is troubled when she receives an unexpected gift from her estranged husband. Her younger roommate, Anu, tries in vain to find a spot in the city to be intimate with her boyfriend. A trip to a beach town allows them to find a space for their desires to manifest.

So tender, so beautiful and so thoughtfully directed/shot drama throughout. City, train, markets, crowd of Mumbai also played its part in blending so well with the lives of main characters. One of the important scenes towards the end compelled me to give this an extra marks. I can’t forget what Payal did there. The meaning of the title comes alive even more during that scene and that one scene is discussion worthy amongst movie buffs. There’s one more impactful dialogue “You have to believe in the illusion of Mumbai or else you will go mad”. This statement is true for characters’ lives too. Then that spectacular final shot again defines the title of the movie in a symbolic way ❤️❤️ Absolutely loved it.

The way Payal Kapadia portrays Mumbai is deeply impactful, and the characters and their struggles resonate emotionally.
