Bumping up half a star for Winona Ryder
People are too harsh on this I believe. Already legacy of Alien and aliens were destroyed in Alien 3, so this felt like a stand-alone thing for me. So I didn’t care whether it was taking the legacy forward or not. This was fun, dark, weird and some of the set pieces were super enjoyable especially underwater. Silly fun characters with many more xenomorphs killing people. There are some awful writing choices for sure but overall much much better than Alien 3.

It’s like the best parts of aliens but for the whole movie. The practical effects go absolutely bonkers in this one.
