A New Yorker's crazy night is an average Philadelphian's

Never flirt with a girl at a diner late at night, cause you might end up mummified by the end of the night.

Can’t believe this movie of Martin Scorsese is not talked about much compared to his other popular movies. Masterclass in writing one night story, camera work, black comedy, score and unpredictably delicious ending.

The Scorses-a-thon 2:04 AM There is a dreamlike quality to this that made me think of Under the Silver Lake. Though not quite as unusual and surreal as that film, this one is still incredibly strange. While I had an enjoyable enough time, it never wowed me, and by the ending, which I do like, I was left somewhat disappointed.  That is probably my fault for holding the movie to somewhat unknown expectations, but I know the film is well liked, and so I was surprised with just how simple it was. I will say that after so many similar Scorsese films, this and The King of Comedy were incredibly refreshing and make me excited for the rest of the films.
