A Christmas Carol2009

Zemeckis-fest Decided to do his two Christmas films back-to-back. I think The Polar Express is definitely the easier watch of the two, but this is still good. I don’t have a particular favorite adaptation of this story (aside from Mickey’s Christmas Carol), so I think I’m as likely to watch this as much as any other version.  There is an unsettling nature to this, but I feel like it really works and makes it feel more visceral than it otherwise would. And like The Polar Express, Zemeckis really attempts to use the animation to its fullest capabilities.  Overall, I liked this, and I think it works. Zemeckis still hasn’t let me down, and really, these are more asides than anything else. It’s not like Zemeckis would make a full action-adventure movie in this style. That would be crazy.
