
Matthew Wade
Matthew Wade is an independent filmmaker working across live action, stop-motion, and 2D animation. His films have screened four times at Slamdance, as well as the San Francisco International Film Festival, Maryland Film Festival, and dozens more around the world. He has received awards from Slamdance, Sun Valley Film Festival, Tacoma Film Festival, and Istanbul Experimental Film Festival, among others. His feature films have found audiences through cult film favorites NoBudge and the Slamdance Channel. Wade also works in commercial animation, working on projects for brands including Patagonia, MTV, Vans, Target, Whole Foods, and stop-motion for an Apple iPhone commercial directed by Michel Gondry. His personal film work draws on dream logic, handmade worlds, and the visual language of genre cinema, blending practical filmmaking with animation to explore memory, transformation, belief, and the boundaries between the real and the imagined.
