He is an advertising photographer, cinematographer and director of photography and is considered one of the figures of the new Latin American cinema. One of his most recent works, the feature film ¡Que viva la música! (2015) by Carlos Moreno, won him the award for Best Ibero-American Cinematography at the XXX International Film Festival in Guadalajara, Mexico.
