White Nights1960

This adaptation is more faithful to Dostoevsky’s work than Visconti’s version. It even includes Nastenka’s letter, which was devastating. While Visconti’s may be more renowned, this one is no less beautiful. It has a theatrical feel, more dramatized with remarkable costumes and colors. But White Nights is almost impossible to miss. Its beauty carries any adaptation. It never fails to devastate and haunt me. (I, too, am a dreamer)
