Wes Craven's New Nightmare1994

You can see Scream’s guts in New Nightmare, but Wes was smart to let Kevin Williamson refine the meta horror subgenre New Nightmare started but Scream defined.  Had Craven passed on Scream, I’d say he made New Nightmare simply to satisfy his ego.  But instead, I’ll think of this as an early draft of Scream. But com on - you can’t cast yourself as yourself in a horror movie AND film a shot of a Freddy as  Nosferatus shadow
