Transformers: Dark of the Moon2011

Trump Tower is the epicenter of a hostile world takeover. Hmm. The one thing that ruins this movie for me is the inclusion of this random British girl as Sam’s new girlfriend. After the last movie was all about the growth of Mikaela and Sam’s relationship, it’s kind of shocking and disappointing that would just completely write off her character, basically like she didn’t exist. It would have been much better if Sam was just single. I don’t really like Megan Fox or even really care about her and Sam’s relationship, but when the whole heart of your story is them and their growth as a couple, and then you just shit all over it in the next movie, it doesn’t really sit right with me.  Outside of that, this is probably my favorite so far. Either they’re getting better, or I’m fully being brainwashed.  While the way Transformers transform in the action sequences is cool, I do think some of their designs leave something to be desired, especially with a lot of the deceptions. A lot of the designs don’t have a good enough balance between their robot and vehicle forms and look more alien than Transformers. Megatron’s design here is peak, though.  I honestly think this could have been two movies, with the first part ending with the Autobots leaving Earth. It would have been more satisfying of a finale and a more dramatic ending.  Optimus is ice cold here, which I love, but it’s pretty out of character. Also, the most abrupt ending ever?
