Through the Olive Trees1994

Consider this review more as a review for the Koker Trilogy as a whole.  First off each movie made me like and appreciate the one before it. There’s a real sense of a lack of pay-off with each film. The boy never got to return the notebook in the first movie. The father and son never found the brothers in the second movie. And this one the guy never gets an answer from the women he’s in love with. At first I was bothered by this, but I think I’ve come to realize that’s part of the message. That’s life is full of unresolvedness, and to learn to love the journey over the outcome.  Overall the Koker Trilogy was great. The whole idea of a film within a film was completely unexpected, and I loved it very much. Can’t wait to explore more from Kiarostami.
