The Sea Beast2022

I got #MyShit certified film with multiple genres like Sci-fi, Dystopian, Romance, drama, Mystery (Consistently genre defying) join to make one deliciously AMBIGUOUS film that explores fear of love or just FEAR in general. I can call this a complex character study.  It was like the coolest brain ride that I am sure will not forget for the next few days or forever. This is one of the best examples of how to create an ambiguity in films right from the beginning and make viewers not to shift their focus but to try to piece it all together slowly. Yes, this is not something everybody would like but I don’t care because I love it as it’s something I always crave for in such films - Ambiguity done well. The way AI is shown doing something absolutely bizarre in the near future, then how humans are being conditioned to their world - OMG. MIND BLOWING yet terrifying to imagine this future - The whole purification thing. The more I say, the more I want to dissect this movie as i interpreted it but this is the beauty of such films. You have your own interpretations that can find its fit in line with the film and characters. What a movie this. One of the best films of the year undoubtedly. And Lea was magnificent (in all the time periods) and George McKay was equally impactful.  PS : Treatment of this movie kinda slightly reminded me of multiple other films like “cloud atlas” but especially Charlie Kaufman’s “I am thinking of ending things” and “Synecdoche, New York” - All characters have some trauma or lonely or depressed or can’t see what’s reality and what is not. I love it when directors or writers explore such characters and add them into a Sci-Fi or dystopian or just a twisted genre and experiment with it instead of making a straightforward film.  #MyShit CERTIFIED
