The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!1988

I was born in 1991 and I remember seeing this and the sequel more than a handful of times growing up.  I find it so funny because Leslie Nielsen sticks to the bit. His straight man is unbreakable, he gets more and more ridiculous and I love it. We wouldn’t have movies without Austin Powers or Scary Movie if it wasn’t for the Naked Gun. It’s a rare five because I was literally cackling up the entire movie. I had not laughed that hard in ages. Plus, this might sound cruel, but O.J. Simpson is tortured the entire movie and it feels fitting. His character is injured early on in the rest of the movie he suffers through all sorts of ailments and hijinks. And it makes it easier to laugh at his scenes, knowing what we know now.
