Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones2002

“𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒅𝒐 𝑰 𝒈𝒆𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒚𝒐𝒖'𝒓𝒆 𝒈𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒉 𝒐𝒇 𝒎𝒆?” Episode 2 is head and shoulders above the Phantom Menace in plot and just overall execution. Is Anakin and Padmé’s relationship super melodramatic? Yes. But that doesn’t mean it’s not good or enjoyable. I think a big problem is it’s hard to see Anakin’s struggle when all of his training has been off-screen and we only get told about his problems. He comes across as a childish brat (which I guess he is), which makes it quite hard to find him relatable or sympathetic.  There are still moments of heart and beauty, but it doesn’t all work 100%.  That being said, I don’t care.  This movie is incredible, and I love it. The political espionage, the action, the drama, the STAR WARS! While things could be done to improve it, I honestly don’t have any complaints. The Obi-Wan segments are my favorite, and I love how he is portrayed. You have to think how he was still a padawan when he took Anakin in and started training him. And you can see his youthful brashness and why he criticizes Anakin so harshly. Because he sees those same flaws in himself.  This is without a doubt the coolest Star Wars movie and the best look we have of the universe at its peak. Are the Jedi as a whole inexplicably incredibly naive and stupid? Yes, but also did you see Yoda catch a ball of lightning? Very, very cool.  This is the Star Wars film I’ve probably watched the most over my whole life. And maybe I am biased because of that. Or maybe I’m the only one who can see this movie clearly and judge it for the masterpiece it is.
