One of the greatest IMAX films I have ever watched. The way writing, cinematography, and direction were complimented by IMAX technology was epic. In some sequences, the shift from the aspect ratio 2.76:1 to 1.90:1 was magical. Aspect ratio expands in real time in some of the most important sequences and also subtle character driven sequences. This is not new, I know but in real time most of the films won’t expand. Either you will get a cut in between. Nonetheless it was supremely immersive experience.  Coming to the film, it was emotionally and musically majestic. It is more of a symbolic and character driven storytelling than just vampire action spectacle. It does have brutal action but that also doesn’t seem generic. Everything has a meaning. I wanted 3rd act to be longer but I understand why Coogler didn’t do that. It’s kinda great to see the emphasis on underlying meaning more than just blood/ gore vampire action (It’s still there towards the end and impactful). Certain things are allegorical related to the oppression (Vampire/Klan) that black people faced and especially Blues music, as they were the masters that time. I just read that in reality, white extremists or other such groups used to attack juke joints and kill Black people. How brilliantly Ryan Coogler used this and made a refreshing vampire movie that is layered right from the beginning. Post credit sequences were superb.
