I sat down to watch this thinking I will like it because the amount of baseless negativity this got was not genuine enough to conclude that this will be bad or not. But sadly I didn’t much enjoy this. The main problem with this movie is not its content, intentions or anything, it’s just that constant captivation and creating that solid moment was totally missing. Apart from technicalities that are very good here overall I look forward for action set pieces in such films - but overall I was bit disappointed with that too. Problem was some of it felt like a filler. If you want to create a great action moment, a scene have to be more detailed and captivating. This is exactly what is expected in a larger than life action movies (Even if we forget emotional connect). Some films like this were illogical yet action set pieces were more creative/ captivating and made me hooked to it. When it comes to this I felt Shamshera was disappointing overall especially climax sequence was the weakest.  Yes, there are some cool action ideas like lighting up a fire ball and barging onto the gates with the horse, fun pole fighting sequence was refreshing to watch as opposed to usual wrestling, then my favourite action set piece was the train sequence. But that wasn’t enough for me to love this.  I really really wanted to like this for the sake of going against boycott gangs out there but sadly I will have to be honest in the end about the film. It’s like they had all the right ingredients but failed to season it properly.  Ranbir, cinematography and overall VFX were some of the good things in this. Again want to mention, train sequence was the BEST.
