Satisfactory stuff from Meghna Gulzar. It doesn’t try to go beyond “Good” or “Average”. It stays one note throughout. Also I don’t mind movies being episodic but first half was like 5-10 mini episodes, almost like writer is utilising only one page to show 15-20 years of story. Even the 1971 war was slightly hurried I felt. Could have handled better as they seem to have done good research but yes there were so many things to cover about this great man, which might have made writer to show everything as mini episodes or just newspaper clippings.  Only thing that goes beyond “Good” is Vicky’s performance. He’s terrific.  In short this was largely watchable stuff for me and I can say somewhat satisfied? Yes but Meghna Gulzar has potential to achieve greatness consistently.
