Saludos Amigos1942

For an edutainment film aimed at American audiences from the 1940s this is pretty impressive. This would be many first introduction to South American culture if not any foreign culture. And with that in mind I think it does a pretty good job. It has documentary style snapshots of various South American cultures then artists (who visited the countries) use animation to show their impressions of that culture and give context to American audiences. Like when they compare gauchos to the American cowboy. Taking something audiences would be familiar with and using that as a bouncing off point.  It is simple and enjoyable.
