MAYBE SPOILERS BELOW An allegorical and psychological horror that is dark, slow-burn and highly depressing in the end. It metaphorically shows how an old age (Neglected by daughter) and dementia affects one. Scariest of all is Just the thought of being neglected by your family at an older age and suffering from dementia, loneliness eating you from inside. It is commendable that the debutant director could project this by making dementia or loneliness at an older age as some supernatural being. This is where Horror genre is like an infinite land of opportunity in turning the real life issue into anything if it is well thought and written. first 30 minutes I was clueless what was happening and some weird stuffs that i saw was not explained (Obviously- No fun otherwise for me who loves some ambiguity in a film). But the strength of this film is in its allegorical or metaphorical shots especially towards the end. This film has got one of the best 3rd act and I was in awe of what they did in the end. It was terrifyingly emotional. I don’t think I can ever forget the last 20 minutes. This may not be the scariest experience while watching but (also mentioned above) once I got the underlying message and insanely impactful 3rd act, I just couldn’t stop thinking about my parents, grandparents and also imagined my old age “How it would be?”. This “thinking” part was scary. Don’t know what will happen to you in your old age. But while you can now, embrace your elders in your family. Never lose the connection. Never neglect your parents when they get into their old age. Love them. Don’t stop talking with them. If they are going through some disease like Alzheimer’s or anything, embrace them without making them feel as a stranger.
