a story about the end of the world that's unlike any. Starring 3 distorted mainc souls; one consumed by guilt, one crazy goth spiraling in her own chaos, and one plain stupid, together they set on a journey through the apocalypse, a picnic under the collapsing skies, they discover the outside world beofre it ends, enjoying their newly found freedom, on top of the walls they spent their journey, not too high where the clouds float, and not too low where the devil resides, but somewhere in between, where broken people dare to dream. the second they jumped on top of that wall, it led to one of my favorite scenes ever, a scene that pushed my emotions to the front row, a meloncholic sense of awe emerged as i watched those three roam around the small world in their twisted way, it felt ethereal. a tale of 2 boys and 1 girl is always iconic, although this time its not friendship that ties this group, but a certain sinful innocence imposed by forces beyond them, charming from start to finsh, opening with roses laied on the pavement as if it leads the way to a funeral, and closing with raven feathers and a death at hands, or for the eyes of our protagonist, the death of the world. she who the world revolved around her, she who tied her importance to the rank of the universes, in a whimp destroyed it all, on a whim, for a wish, for a friend , or a lover, it doesn't truly matter... i loved picnic, everything abt it touched my soul in a way i can't reason with, i don't know if it was the film, or the state i was in, either way, it was a profound experince, haunting and tender... a reminder why i love art.
