This movie wrapped itself around my heart in the best way. Okja tells the story of a young girl and her giant best friend a super pig who is kind gentle and full of life. Their bond in the mountains feels so warm and real. You watch them play and trust each other and it makes you smile deep inside. But when the company comes to take Okja away everything turns painful. Mija fights so hard to get her back. The journey is full of wild moments and quiet ones that hit you hard. You feel her fear her anger and her unstoppable love. Okja becomes more than an animal. She feels like family someone worth everything. The film mixes sadness with hope and small victories that warm you up. It made me tear up but also left me feeling stronger about friendship and doing what is right. The connection between Mija and Okja is pure and beautiful. It stays with you and makes you want to protect the ones you love no matter how big the fight gets. Okja is emotional heavy at times but it fills you with feeling. A story that reminds you love can cross any distance and stand against anything. I felt lighter and heavier at the same time. Truly special.
