No One Will Save You2023

Engaging Sci-Fi horror that seriously rules from the word GO with almost no dialogues. I rooted for Brynn throughout and Kaitlyn Dever is absolutely amazing. Best part of it was there’s literally zero exposition. Sometimes it works against the film but the concept kinda demanded a totally silent treatment yet slowly explaining itself without exposition. This treatment worked superbly for me with the lead character’s performance that is brilliant enough for me to understand what she’s going through. One negative aspect is I kinda expected the ending just when 15-20 minutes was left. I will explain it in detail below why I expected that ending -  ******SPOILER ALERT BELOW****** Sometimes in a horror film or even a sci-fi thriller (Or even sometimes other genres) character’s guilt, loneliness, depression and other such emotional traits are put into focus throughout the film and that is also inserted in viewer’s mind. So when such apocalyptic events occurs or alien invasion in this case, it’s kinda familiar when an invader understands the troubled mind of a human that it encounters. From there either it goes into familiar territory or not. In this case it did go into familiar territory. In some crime films we have even seen killer letting his victim stay alive just because victim also went through the same shit in their lives. That’s exactly what happened in “No one can save me”  which wasn’t shocking to me and kinda comes under familiar territory. Aliens let her be herself instead of controlling her mind because she was also like those aliens to the people of that town. Having said that ending still works because of the character setup and what she has gone through. Just wished the ending was more than this. Nonetheless a great watch.
