Breathtaking yet heartbreaking experience. Highly experimental - Shot from a first-person POV that takes time to get adjusted but director Ross exactly knows how to immerse me in the lives of the characters, with the way it’s shot and frequent switches between the characters’ POV, long dialogue heavy sequences, all flows smoothly. I thought we had seen it all when it comes to atrocities towards black people but nope. This story again made me angry. There are some flashes of parallel events that are happening simultaneously and it just shows how well the director wanted viewers to think, that in a normal world, we have got something as illegal as Nickel academy where black students are sexually abused, tortured, killed and what not. The ending is STUNNING. I didn’t get completely what was happening initially but thank god I could pause to read some details that are thrown towards the end. The Reveal 🙏 What an ending.
