This is a masterpiece of parody. A wonderful play on classic noir detective stories with all the hallmarks. One of Hopes greatest films and really shows why he is such an all star talent. It really works because everyone aside from Hope and Lamour play it so straight. As entertaining as any other noir from the era, in fact probably even more so.  Willie is too good for this world.
