Truly a mixed bag. Some of the wackiest stuff followed by some of the absolutely coolest stuff yet. The absolute greatest opening with a super Mission Impossible-coded sky diving sequence. Generic villain lair stuff followed by a beautiful sequence of a girl being chased by dogs in the woods. Great transition to Venice where we get some beautiful shots and then a scene where Bond is cruising down the canals in a gondola and ends up in a chase and the gondola turns into a speedboat. Cute. The gondola then turns into a little car and cruises down the Venice streets with everyone looking absolutely gobsmacked and giving crazy double takes. Later on we are in South America and arrive at an ancient pyramid and inside is the coolest villain lair ever. Then Bond wrestles a rubber snake. It’s decent and at least it’s not boring. I just wish the movies would take themselves just a little more seriously. I think because the last one had a more adventurous tone it all worked better. I also really wished Jaws wasn’t in this one either. He’s only here as a joke and kind of ruins the whole thing. But overall still better than I thought it would be. Let’s see how the rest of the Moore era fares. James Bond Ranked
