Knight and Day2010

“Nobody follow us or I kill myself and then her!” I definitely consider this an unofficial Mission: Impossible film, and if that’s true, then I think it ties with Dead Reckoning in my ranking. It has all the hallmarks of a mission film while being the best rom-com I’ve ever seen on top of all that. Tom really feels like he’s channeling some of his classic performances à la Top Gun or Cocktail while set in a more modern film like MI or Jack Reacher. I think that’s really what makes this movie so strong. Not to mention Paul Dano, who makes every movie better. I love Cameron Diaz as well. She’s really funny, and she’s never really overshadowed by Cruise, which is really easy to do.
