What an entertaining mashup of a native folklore and forest politics that is a modern reality. Spontaneity and authenticity in performances plus being subtly massy at times is something to cheer about. Climax is chillingly goosebump-friendly till the final shot that I absolutely adored. I would have loved it even more if it was not too predictable especially when folklore is involved. Wanted that same shock level that Tumbbad gave me. But Kantara’s biggest achievement is in mashing up of different genres (Comedy was brilliant and people would enjoy it even more if they understand this Kannada dialect that is specific to that village) and creating something unique yet universally appealing movie. Rishab Shetty was phenomenal.
