In a Violent Nature2024

In a Violent Nature is mostly derivative of TCM, Halloween, Friday the 13th, Evil Dead, and even I Know What You Did Last Summer, but it still manages to stand out on its own. Obviously the cliff side kill is wild, but the way nature is shot (and nature’s sound design) is really serene and peaceful in comparison to each kill. I hadn’t seen a slasher like that.  Sure, Friday the 13th is in the forest, but Crystal Lake’s natural beauty doesn’t really stand out as a key feature in that movie. Back to the cliff side kill.  The most masterful part of it is the fact that you can’t overthink whether the physics actually works without first dry heaving
