Happy Holidays with Bing and Frank1957

When I was a kid, every Christmas I would listen to this cd of Christmas songs with Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby. And it was my favorite thing to listen to every year. Hearing these two icons sing these holiday classics together was one of the best parts of the season. After listening to it for my entire childhood, I eventually moved away, and now I hadn’t heard it in maybe ten years.  Well, all this time later, not only have I found it, but I learned that it was from a tv special. And it’s incredible.  It’s delightfully simple and feels like we, along with Bing, have been invited into the Sinatra home this fine winter evening. As we delve further into the night, thanks to the help of some holiday spirits, we are transported back to merry old England on a beautifully designed soundstage and treated to classic Christmas carols with a choir.  Frank and Bing head home and treat us to some contemporary classics and, of course, White Christmas. And as they sit down for dinner, we drift off into the ether.  I’m so excited for this to become part of my Christmas traditions again.
