As someone who has only seen the original film and the new trilogy, there were some lore things that were slightly confusing. I also didn’t know this was a direct sequel to H2O, so I’m definitely missing out on some information from that movie. SPOILERS I’m not really sure what to rate this. On one hand, I love the 2000s of it all and had a really fun time. But on the other hand, it’s very stupid and has the worst interpretation of Michael ever. So Jamie Lee Curtis is on the poster with her H2O hair, but that version of the character is never in this film. It opens, and I guess she’s been inducted into some sort of asylum after the events of the previous film, and Michael comes to kill her. He does some over-the-top stuff that feels out of character for him and finally confronts Laurie. She traps him, and instead of smoking his ass, she goes to take off his mask to check if it’s really him. He grabs her, and they fall off the roof. Laurie gets stabbed and falls TO HER DEATH. Boom. Done. Out of the movie. The rest of the movie follows this group of college kids who are in this online reality show where they stay in spooOOooOOky places overnight. Everybody dies, yada yada, you get the drill. But another tidbit is the main girl has this online boyfriend played by the kid from The Luck of the Irish. so later on, he watches the live stream and helps the main girl by telling her where Michael is. So there were 2 things I definitely expected to happen in this movie.
- I fully 100% expected Laurie to come back. Like she would be living in the house or something. The movie is literally called Halloween Resurrection. She does not.
- I also would have put money DOWN that the online boyfriend would have pulled up at the last second and saved the girl. Nope. Did not happen.
He doesn’t even meet her. It definitely seems like they were planning for a follow-up film that never came to be. So as I said before, I’m not really sure what to rate this. It’s the kind of stupid, fun, and cool movie that I would normally give five stars, but seeing how much I love Michael Myers and how he’s the worst part of the film, that just doesn’t seem right. And it also seems silly to give it something like a 4 1/2. So I guess I might just have to not rate this one. Also Michael gets killed by being electrocuted in the dick.
