Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die2026

While I agree 500% with this movie’s message, I’m not sure if the execution is all there.  Technology and AI are definitely the downfall of society, but this movie puts a little too much emphasis and blame on the citizens who have become callous and hopeless in the face of an unfixable problem. I understand that the point is still that there is an evil AI overlord that wants to destroy humanity, but that subtext of “the kids and their phones” is still there. And I really don’t think we can blame people for the problems caused by corporations and billionaires. That message was outdated 20 years ago.  But that’s kind of a personal gripe. There’s no way a comedy movie about AI and tech would not poke fun at the consumers. But because the real message is so clear (fuck AI), I wish it would go harder into blaming the oppressors and not the victims. But I guess no one is innocent.  I’m so glad I knew so little about this movie, though. I was constantly surprised by whatever happened next, which was definitely the intention. This is a movie you really should know as little as possible going in, so definitely don’t read any reviews (whoops).  It’s fun and funny, timely and topical. Sam Rockwell is always incredible and remains just so here. And I really shouldn’t downplay how important a movie coming out like this is, especially when so many directors are starting to use and excuse the inclusion of AI in filmmaking. When I hear Darren Aronofsky is making an AI show, it truly feels like this is the end times.  Realistically, right now is probably the worst period in recorded history. Because we have never been more stupid and more content. The internet is the worst creation by man on par with the atomic bomb. And there’s nothing we can do. Because I am typing this on my phone using the internet, and if you’re reading this, then you are doing the exact same thing. We are out of touch and out of time.  Good Luck Have Fun Don’t Die
