Gamera vs. Viras1968

15/100 It was just tedious getting through this one. I think I'm starting to see why Daiei went bankrupt. Probably already were when they were making this movie, considering all the cost-cutting measures. So they needed funding from the Americans, meaning there's two idiot kids instead of one in this one. As if more were needed, the suffering of the audience increased for some reason. The aliens keep saying they're gonna kill them, and I knew they wouldn't, but a man can hope. Sadly, these hopes were dashed. The other human characters are similarly idiotic. The United Nations themselves decide to hand over the Earth to aliens rather than risk them killing two kids...even though they say they're gonna kill all the humans (which should including the kids) when they surrender. The others ain't too well either. Perhaps the most egregious sin of this movie is that half an hour of this one-and-a-half-hour movie is composed of stock footage, and sadly enough, this reused footage is probably one of the movie's more enjoyable parts. If the last movie was the kind of movie you watch just for the monsters, this one's the movie you watch just for the final battle, which was decently entertaining, all things considered. However, its still not enough to save this travesty of a horribly boring, yet somehow still annoying, movie. Perhaps stick to the other Gamera movies.
