Dream Scenario2023

Like many films before it, Dream Scenario explores the trials and tribulations that come with fame. It distinguishes itself from past movies by flipping the script to explore how the internet affects our collective subconscious. The movie had fun moments, and Cage gave 100% as always, but by the third act, I just didn't care. Maybe it was the dream wristbands. The polished influencer shots didn't help, either. I get why the scenes were included, though. The dream wristband sets up a touching, beautiful ending. If only getting there didn't feel so forced and artificial. Julianne Nicholson's performance was a highlight, but I wish Kristoffer Borgli spent more time on her character. How Paul's sudden notoriety impacted Janet is infinitely more interesting than what we got. Despite its issues, I still liked the movie and recommend seeing it. What can I say - I'm a softie for romance and the Talking Heads.
