Decision to Leave2022

I may need to rewatch this to fully appreciate it, but the film kinda lost me in it's second half. The world that was built up came crumbling down as the first case resolved, and the time spent in ipo was difficult to adjust to in the runtime of the film. The degree of change and the fact that he left his original sidekicks behind made me a little uncomfortable, perhaps it was the same for the protagonist. But in the end that is my own resistance to change. I'm also afraid I couldn't fully empathise with the characters the longer the story went on, and the final scene did not have as much of an impact on me as I think it could have. But the warmer feelings of the first half of the movie definitely made it worth following through with, seeing what was a bad idea turn to a rich bond between two people, and then be both at the same time until everything boils down to a harrowing end. And maybe I'll remember those warmer more intimate sequences from the first half they way the protagonists did in the second. Really can't deal with mountains and seas for a while after this.
