“A nail technician? That's like a janitor callin himself a sanitation engineer!” A fun hood movie where you can derive enjoyment from it by simply switching your brain off. Trust me if you use your brain even once, the script and the characters look incredibly funny under the light. If you do happen to be one of those people who watch everything with their minds always on ten, the inconsistencies, the leaps in logic and the questionable editing will be fun to watch. Assuming you have a sense of humour about it. It’s literally so bad it’s good. Examples of the said fuck ups and inconsistencies: 1. When Vaughn and his girlfriend were talking at the club, their plates are on the table. When they got up from the table, the plates are gone. 2. During Tech's final free throw, he begins to shoot with his left hand. When the camera angle changes, he takes the shot with his right. 3. When Cruise is brought into the hospital, 2 nurses pass Tech and Cruise's grandmother. In the next scene, the nurses pass Tech and Cruise's grandmother again. 4. In a scene during the final game, the letters and numbers on the front of Big Man's jersey are backwards. 5. At the end, the movie states that Cruise earned a medical degree from Morehouse College. Morehouse does not issue medical degrees. It’s actually nuts how many errors there are lmao. Anthony Mackie needs to stop being cast as the tough hood guy. Incredible guy but those roles just aren’t for him. He comes off more hilarious than intimidating. This is especially so when he tries to get goku tough on Ebony and she doesn’t flinch. That scene is jokes. Tech and Cruise are the biggest simps in black cinema history my god. You can tell they don’t have experience with women. Tech and Cruise were likable though despite my deep distain for them because they feel like people i grew up with. Wayne Brady is here too i guess. He’s just vibing, running an underground basketball rink. Fun slice of life hood movie(if you lower your expectations[i cannot stress that enough). Amazing film to watch on narcotics.
