Scorses-a-thon Obviously a sister film to Goodfellas, but I feel perhaps even better at least on a visual standpoint. I think there’s something of Age of Innocence in this. Ace is softer than a lot of other Scorsese protagonists, and there is a tragedy to his and Gingers’ relationship that feels really mutual. Not one-sided male aggression but two doomed individuals.  Just like Goodfellas, it’s just a great story completely entertaining from start to finish, and I really liked this look into classic Las Vegas. A world I wish I could see but is long gone now and only lives on in movies like this or Ocean’s Eleven. I nearly had me that chauffeur And that block-long limousine. I nearly had me that penthouse. All them stacks of folding green. Some Judge is gonna say. I'm putting you away. For four score years and seven. In the meantime. Eee-o-Eleven Eee-o-Eleven Scorsese still proves that he’s the goat, and I’m curious where he goes now after releasing what many call his best works. Let’s see.
