Cape Fear1962

I liked this fairly well, and it’s pretty suspenseful, but I think it would play a lot better in the theatre. It just felt a little too slow watching it at home. Maybe it would be different if I cared more about any of the characters, but Robert Mitchum’s is the most interesting one.  Everyone feels very generic, which could be on purpose to make it more relatable, but I don’t really watch movies because they are relatable. Or I don’t need a character to be a blank slate so I can insert myself into it.  It’s shot well, and some moments were fairly scary, but it just didn’t do much for me. Maybe it’ll hit better on a rewatch.
