C U Soon2020

Wow. There hasn’t been many “found footage” indian films. I checked online and I got like 6-7 Indian films. I have watched many such films from another country.  But C u soon is the best Indian film in this “Found footage” genre to come out. So so insanely engaging found footage thriller yet a very emotional one too. I couldn’t guess the mystery at all. I had a generic thought about what might have happened but thankfully it didn’t turn out the way I expected. The reveal is executed superbly. Everything, the usage of technology (Which is expected in this sub genre) is been done brilliantly. Somethings though were tough to show when whole film is adapting the same filmmaking technique, yet they somehow showed it which is commendable. Roshan Matthew, Darshana Rajendra were terrific but Fahad as usual was extraordinary. He doesn’t need any dialogues to prove how brilliantly he acts. Just him seeing the laptop screen is madly convincing and realistic. What an actor.  Malayalam cinema almost always gets the experimentation right whenever they try to do something that is done so rarely in India. My only negative thing is, slightly the thrill stopped in the end as it had to change the tone immediately after an epic setup. I can understand why they had to do that and it was logically done which is fine. Anyways just trying to nitpick in this film that was almost perfect in this genre.
