75/100 An interesting movie to watch, more for how Batman was perceived in his early years than anything else. I must admit it's a bit weird for someone like me, who has primarily known a Batman with an embargo on killing and guns, to witness him casually blowing up a chemical plant full of goons, something hard to forgive considering Batman's "no-kill" rule had already been implemented for some time in the comics. Though he is not particularly comic accurate, one thing Keaton's Batman is is cool, and very, all the way from his "wonderful toys" to his Batmobile, which is practically straight off the page. His voice works really well (better than Bale's growl at least) and of course, you have the iconic line "I'm Batman." delivered very well. His performance as Bruce Wayne is also good, and pretty realistically explores how a billionaire CEO who dresses up as a bat to fight criminals in his free time would most likely be a wreck when it comes to interacting with people (though I could do with less Vicki Vale). The real highlight, though, is of course, Jack Nicholson's take on the Joker, who is almost a transition from Caesar Romero's more comedic prankster and Heath Ledger's murderous psychopath clown. This allows for the best of both worlds, and there's a reason he was practically billed as the star of this film. I could go on about Tim Burton's gothic direction and the great plot, acting and basically everything else, but I think I've gone on long enough. This movie is fun to the core, and a pretty good adaptation of the source material for what it's worth. Check it out.
