Basic Instinct1992

Erotic, provocative, and thrilling.  Genuinely might be my favorite mystery thriller. This movie is so exciting I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.  SPOILERS So it’s the classic “the most obvious person is actually the guilty party,” but there’s so much back and forth you just don’t know what to believe. Michael Douglas has played asshole cops before, and he definitely plays to that strength here. The character of Catherine is fascinating, and while she can be sympathetic, you never quite trust her.  I was honestly blown away by this movie, and the only reason I put this on was because I wanted to watch Fatal Instinct, which is a parody film that is at least somewhat inspired by this and Fatal Attraction, which is another Michael Douglas film that I will be watching next.  This is absolutely a new favorite.
