Amazing Stories1986

Zemeckis-fest This is a review for season 2 episode 8: Go To The Head Of The Class. A very spooky, dooky Halloween-type watch. A boy tries to put a curse on his strict teacher, and things go very awry.  I definitely think at this point Zemeckis was much more geared towards young adult stories over the much more adult and explicit romancing the stone. Even in this 45 minute tv episode, it is much funnier and more entertaining.  You can definitely tell this is post Back to the Future for a multitude of reasons, namely Christopher Lloyd, but even beyond that casting, I feel like there’s a confidence and polish to this over his other previous work.  Also, I’m guessing it’s a budget thing, but this is like 20 minutes longer and worlds better than Scorsese’s episode, and I don’t know if he just completely phoned it in or what because I can totally tell that Zemeckis made this where I would never guess Scorsese directed his episode.  Anyways, I’ll probably watch this again in October and probably every October after that. It’s just very fun, and it works.
