Just been 10 minutes since I finished this and Still processing that final shot. One of the best examples of an immersive drama direction where it totally lets viewers to get the cosiest heart wrenching Father-Daughter relationship on screen. Unbelievably intimate and pure meditative drama. Yes, I sound like some YOGA GURU but seriously this was like the best meditation I had of 2023 already and of course one of the best movies of 2022. The vibe this movie sets, sometimes I don’t know exactly how to feel about it. Whether to love it because of the nature of direction/performances or whether to feel heartbroken by their sheer amount of immersive drama. People usually use “Immersive” word for spectacles or larger than life movies but AFTERSUN proves that a simple intimate drama can also be immersive and move anybody to an extent they don’t find the right words to explain the feelings for the movie.
