“You cannot tolerate a faith in humanity... because if you do, all this, the structure of your very existence, which you built on hate and vengeance... all this will collapse without the naked lie of your life. You are a beaten man, at war with the dictates of his heart.” It’s pretty slow but it looks incredible especially all the undersea footage. I feel like POTC: dead man’s chest definitely took some cues from this movie. It’s not as exciting as something like The Island At The Top Of The World but still would definitely recommend. James Mason is absolutely incredible as Nemo, a man whose hatred and anger could easily be justified but is blinded by his “moral superiority”.
