TV Time Alternatives in 2026, and Where Your Export Fits
TV Time shut down on July 15, 2026. Whip Media, its owner, wound the service down, the apps left the stores, and the accounts and their histories were deleted with them. What survived is whatever people exported first: the official GDPR zip from the data-request portal, or the series and movies JSON files from the "TV Time Out" browser extension the community built when the portal got slow. If you have one of those, you have your history. The question is where to put it.
We make one of the trackers below, so read this knowing that. The list is ordered by how much of a TV Time export each one can take, as far as we can verify in September 2026.
Queuebrick

Bingers
The successor from inside the family. Antonio Pinto, one of TV Time's original founders, built Bingers to replace it after the shutdown, with shows and movies, a community, and an importer for the GDPR archives. It launched on iPhone and Android over the summer. If what you loved about TV Time was the comments under every episode, this is the app built to bring that back, and it is the one to watch for how the paid side settles.
Simkl
Films, TV and anime, with scrobbling and a free tier that includes import and export. Simkl has a built-in import tool that reads other services' data, and it was one of the first places people pointed TV Time refugees. VIP, about $35 every six months, adds backups and calendar sync. Dense interface, deep feature set.
BetaSeries
The French tracker, in English too, with episode-level tracking, a calendar, and its own import tool for TV Time data. A large European community and a long track record. Worth a look especially if you want the calendar side of TV Time back.
Trakt
The scrobbler. Connect Plex, Kodi, Infuse or dozens of other apps and your history writes itself, films and TV alike, episode by episode. Free accounts tightened in 2026 (a 250-item watchlist, five personal lists, one connected app since July), and VIP is about $30 a year. Check whether the import path you need reads the TV Time files before you commit; Trakt's strength is what happens after the move, not the move itself.
Serializd
Letterboxd for television: reviews, season logs, lists, a friendly community, free on the web, iPhone and Android. TV only, so movies need another home. Serializd never shipped an official export of its own, but a community exporter exists, which says something about how people feel about it.
Showly and SeriesGuide
Two long-running apps that lean on Trakt for their data and sync. Showly is on iPhone and Android with a clean episode calendar; SeriesGuide is Android's veteran, with notifications, a calendar and offline lists. Both are good daily trackers; neither is a place your TV Time export goes directly, so you would bring it in through Trakt.
Hobi
A TV tracker for iPhone and Android with a calendar, statistics and a friendly look, built for exactly the person who liked TV Time's feel. Its own guide to the shutdown is worth reading. Confirm its import handles the files you have.
If you didn't export in time
Then the honest answer is that the history is gone, and no app on this list can get it back. Starting over is lighter than it sounds: add the shows you are watching now, queue the ones you keep meaning to start, and the shelf fills back up in an evening. Whatever you choose next, pick something that exports. A tracker you can leave is a tracker you can trust.
